Karyn Mahrie Chabot, M.Ay, LMT, RYT
It all started with massage, ayurveda and healing myself and others. I later learned that I was born with the gift of “the messenger of light”. It is with immense gratitude and humility that I use this gift to help others. Perhaps you were also born with gift? I can see it in your chart and in the cards if you want to come for a reading. After 18 years of reading astrology and the mystic cards as my profession, my gifts have developed such that while gazing at the cards or an astrology chart, my third eye opens and I hear, see and “smell” messages from Spirit. There is something about the sacred symbols and shapes in the oracles that have initiated my earth eyes, activating my gift, in turn, igniting my third eye into other worldly dimensions aligned with the Divine Mother and other highly evolved loving, helpful and wise beings.
I started studying the ancient science of the cards and Jyotish for fun in 2006 and started reading for friends and family. I was busy giving therapeutic massage, ayurveda health consultations and teaching yoga, as well as owning a school for the healing arts in Newport, RI, but had such a high demand for readings from clients, that I decided to make a profession out it. I discovered I was naturally intuitive and could provide clarity and insights for many people. Creating a warm, humble, safe space, clients can be themselves with me and trust whole heartedly. "Knowing Before" is important so we can be prepared for what is coming, yet loving the present moment and the value of free will is equally valuable. Understanding ourselves, our blueprints and why we are here can transform our lives. I am also an Ayurvedic Health Counselor and Medical Intuitive and happy to share anything that comes up about your health during a reading. I am also very sensitive with my delivery and use a positive approach to everything because all news is good news, even if it feels challenging at first. Sometimes we go thru health challenges as well as emotional turbulence for purification so we can become our best selves.
I studied Jyotish (Vedic Astrology) since 2008 with David Hawthorne in Fairfield, IA, as well as with Penny Farrow, Simon Chokoisky, Gandharva Sauls, Richard Edison, Ryan Kurczac and many other experts. I'm a perpetual student, passionate about how science and magic are inseparable. As an astrologer and healer, I cognized Sacred Stone Massage Therapy in 1999 off the shores of Rhode Island and was the first to bring this beautiful therapy to the East Coast. Later, people took the word "Sacred" out and replaced it what is now in every spa as "Hot Stone Massage". I trained over 1,500 Sacred Stone Therapists and am a leading continuing education provider for licensed massage therapists and healers.
As founder of Sacred Stone Academy of Massage and Ayurveda (SAMA), a school for Ayurveda and continuing and proprietary education in professional massage therapy, graduates are eligible for state licensure from one of the first Ayurvedic state-approved massage therapy schools in the country.
I discovered the healing power of stones while was struggling to relieve my own physical pain due to fibromyalgia and mast cell activation syndrome. At the end of a long day of seeing clients, I would find relief by laying upon the smooth, sun-baked stone cliffs in her backyard in Rhode Island. I started heating these velvety, textured sea stones from the cliffs and incorporating them into my oil massage practice (abhyanga) to facilitate the healing process for my clients. With the help of my client's feedback, inspiration and suggestions, my clients and I developed Sacred Stone Therapy. Massage therapists from all over the country starting making appointments with me to experience this new therapy and asked mer to start teaching classes.
In 1997, I graduated and studied with the well-loved and renowned Dr. Vasant Lad, B.A. M.S at his prestigious school called The Ayurvedic Institute in New Mexico. I graduated from Goddard College with her bachelor's degree in Alternative Health in 1995. Universal Massage Therapeutics of New Mexico graduated me in 1997. I was former adjunct faculty professor at Bristol Community College in their massage therapy program and studied two years at the Masters level at Maharishi University in Iowa in Vedic Science and was initiated as a Siddha. Finally, I earnedmy Masters degree in Ayurvedic medicine from Goddard College.
During the past 30 years of working in the health industry and dancing professionally, I became a licensed and nationally certified Massage Therapist, a certified Ayur*Yoga Instructor and a nationally certified yoga instructor from the Nosara Yoga Institute in Costa Rica. I studied Ayurvedic Blueprinting for many years with renowned Gandharva Sauls and graduated the Ayurveda-Yoga Institute of NYC. I later became a certified master crystologist with the Taomchi Association of America, a 2nd degree Reiki Practitioner, certified Quantum Touch therapist & certified Fitness Trainer and Nutritionist, and became certified in module one & two of The Bodytalk System. I studied Marma Therapy with Dr. Vasant Lad, Dr. Vaidya Mishra & Dr. Naina Marballi at Ayurveda's Beauty Care in NYC. I also became a certified Ayurvedic Beauty Specialist with Sonia Masocco at The Ayurvedic Institute. I took level one of The Yuen Method of Healing, and holds a certification as a Pancha Karma Therapist and Medical Thai Therapist.
I was asked to presented this therapy on national TV, in many international and national spas and healing centers, and at the National Ayurvedic Medical Association annual conferences.I have written many published articles in national magazines and is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association, The National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and The National Ayurvedic Medical Association.
I produced 6 comprehensive instructional DVDs on the art of stone healing and Ayurvedic spa therapies and has written 8 illustrated bodywork books and correspondence courses for massage therapists. Sacred Stone Therapy made the cover of the American Massage Therapy Association Magazine in Oct 2003 and March 2005. I still hope to publish my book on Sacred Stone Therapy and another book on Ayurveda (geared for massage therapists) as well as one on the mystic science of the cards.
My most precious gift is my 29-year-old daughter, Jaeda Chabot, LMT who is following in my foot steps (but marches to the beat of her own drum!) and working as a licensed massage therapist, holistic healer, organic chef, hair stylist and esthetician. She's also a talented singer and muscian and hysterically funny!
